Hello, I'm Nicole Rizzuto, a former NBSTSA-certified surgical technologist and licensed tattoo artist specializing in medical tattooing since 2019 in New York. I’m passionate about merging medicine and art in my career.

I began body art tattooing in 2003 through a private apprenticeship, driven by my passion for art. Later, I pursued formal education in upstate New York in Fine and Commercial Arts, with a focus on figure drawing, color theory, photography, and sculpture.

My journey into healthcare began after a rare kidney cancer diagnosis at 24, leading to two major surgeries and the removal of my kidney. This experience inspired my career in the operating room, motivated by a desire to give back the compassion I received as a patient.

After graduating third in my class from the Ulster BOCES Surgical Technology program, I refined my skills at Kaiser Permanente in Hollywood, California, working across specialties such as orthopedics, trauma, plastic reconstruction, oncology, neurosurgeries, and robotic surgeries.

My introduction to medical tattooing came in 2018 through conversations with plastic surgeons who saw a need for breast reconstruction nipple tattooing.

Fueled by a vision for setting standards in medical tattooing, I co-founded the Alliance of Medical Tattooing with a dedicated team of professionals. This organization brings together experts to set industry standards and foster collaboration. With my background in surgical procedures and art, I strive to make a meaningful impact, especially for breast cancer patients and others seeking aesthetic restoration.

After six years in medical tattooing, I feel privileged to be part of patients' journeys, offering the "final touches" in their healing process. Being one of the last professionals they see, I aim to bring them a sense of wholeness and confidence. Art has the power to heal, and I am dedicated to using it to make a difference.
