I will be adding much more design ideas! Some drawn, some pop-culture and film related collage-style. Check back soon! For Booking Custom Work, see my website domcalitattoo.com for more details on how and when. From an early age, I loved art. My earliest “dream jobs” were illustrator, cartoonist, and comic book artist. In high school I found photo-realism and portraiture, mostly drawing with graphite, charcoal, and colored pencil. In 2012, I graduated from the Pratt Institute with a BA in Digital Art, but after a few years of struggling to find my niche in the digital art world, I decided to make a change. I found tattooing in 2014, and I became hooked. I’ve been given many life changing opportunities in this career, and I am grateful for everyone that has helped me get to where I am today. My biggest influences include modern and contemporary dark surrealists like Salvador Dali, Zdzislaw Beksinski, Francis Bacon, H.R. Giger, and Chet Zar, as well as many Renaissance and Baroque artists. Film and TV are another source of inspiration, and something I pay homage to in my work - including the works of Tarantino, Scorsese, Kubrick, Fincher, and Burton. Stylistically, I have shifted from attempting to achieve strict photorealism, to a more stylistic black work and illustrative look that utilizes dot work, thin lines, and bold use of contrast. My goal is to create dynamic and realistic imagery that is also bold and clear, even from a distance. With the trust of my clientele I continue to hone my own signature style, pushing the boundaries of what's possible on skin. I look forward to working with you.
