Trav

Trav is a self taught tattooer, artist, and owner of the Sink Or Swim Tattoo Parlor. Trav’s style can be described as “modern classic, timeless and classy”; black tattoos using traditional motifs, inspired by Americana, nature, the occult and surreal. All works are made using vegan & eco friendly materials. Trav’s journey into tattooing began a bit more unconventional than most, learning how to make prison style machines and inks at the age of 13 by a friend’s uncle who spent time in prison. Soon after, Trav left home to spend his teenage years living on the streets, launching him into a journey of art, creation, and self discovery. Living by the philosophy that “life is art, every thought and action a brushstroke in the overall masterpiece that is our life”, he realizes his ability to create his reality, and has made and experimented with many forms of art including painting, music, photo & videography, and more. This has lead him to pursuing many endeavors in following his vision, from selling paintings on the streets of NYC, to touring the country with his art. Trav has been the president of a nonprofit in which he used to open an art gallery, opened a clothing store, raises funds for charities, and much more, all in the pursuit of discovery, expression, and building community. Trav has always lived by the punk rock ethos; diy, individualism, creativity, and activism. In this chapter of life, all of his experiences are moving through the neck of a funnel as he channels all of his passion, knowledge, and wisdom into tattooing. Right now he can be found at the Sink or Swim Tattoo Parlor, where he has carved out a space for tattoo lovers to hang out and get beautiful tattoos made with heart. Trav also likes to travel, doing conventions and guest spots, always building and preparing for the next step in his journey.
