About Zakk

Zakk Powers is a tattoo artist working between Boston, Massachusetts and South Florida. He specializes in microrealism and traditional tattooing, blending precision detail with timeless design. His work keeps classic imagery alive across both styles, frequently featuring skulls, pinups, clipper ships, roses, panthers, religious iconography, and other enduring motifs. Zakk is intentional about composition, often leaving negative space between pieces and allowing the skin to serve as the background. He believes this approach gives each tattoo room to breathe, enhancing contrast. Committed to delivering an exceptional experience from consultation to completion, Zakk prioritizes both the artwork and the atmosphere in which it’s created. Many clients walk into the studio for a tattoo and leave with not only a meaningful piece of art, but a memorable experience that brings them back time and time again.

FAQ

Do you show designs before an appointment?
Due to the amount of inquiries I handle and appointments I do on a daily basis, I do not show designs before the day of the appointment. In fact, I like to work as a collaborative team and design with you on the spot on the day of the appointment. That way there is no miscommunication or wasted time on either end.
Do you offer consultations?
Consultations are done on a case by case basis. I will let you know if I feel it necessary for you to come in or jump on a phone call if I am unable to get the information I need from the booking form.
Can I wear numbing cream to my appointment?
I leave this up to the client. But, if you are choosing to wear numbing cream you must apply it before coming to you appointment. Numbing cream takes an hour+ to set in and that will eat into our tattoo time if not applied beforehand. Please keep in mind that numbing cream isn't guaranteed to last the length of the appointment as my tattoos generally last over 3 hours. In my professional opinion it is best to avoid using it.
Is my deposit refundable?
Tattoo deposits are non-refundable because they secure your appointment date and compensate for the time spent preparing your design. When you book a tattoo, your deposit reserves that specific time slot exclusively for you. Once it’s booked, I turn away other potential clients for that date. If an appointment is canceled, especially on short notice, it’s often impossible to refill that time. In addition, your deposit covers the time invested in consultation, reference gathering, drawing, design revisions, and overall preparation. Custom tattooing involves significant work before you ever sit in the chair. Deposits are applied toward the final cost of your tattoo on the day of your appointment. If you need to reschedule, I’m happy to transfer your deposit to a new date as long as sufficient notice is provided (per studio policy). Repeated rescheduling or no-shows may result in forfeiture of the deposit. This policy ensures fairness, protects the time and effort that goes into every piece, and allows me to give each client the full attention and preparation their tattoo deserves.
Do you tattoo in color?
No
Do you offer a payment plan for tattoos?
At check out on Co:Create you will have a few options on how to pay including payment plan options. I understand that tattoos are expensive but rest assured you will leave with a piece you will cherish for a life time. My goal is not to be the cheapest option, but to deliver work that holds up over time, heals well, and remains something you’re proud to wear for life. When you invest in a tattoo with me, you’re investing in craftsmanship, safety, experience, and intentional design — not just time.
