About Kari
American tattoo artist and painter originally from Minneapolis. I have has been practicing art for over 45 years and best known for my work for women within the tattoo industry. Currently based in Long Beach, California. I am the co-owner of Outer Limits Tattoo in Long Beach, CA, the oldest tattoo shop in the United States. I also co-own Outer Limits Tattoo in Costa Mesa. I have earned more than 500 awards for tattoo excellence. I won the Best Tattooist and also Best Overseas Tattooist twice. In 1985, I won Best Black and Grey Tattoo in Seattle, WA. In 1987, I won my first National Tattoo Associations' Tattooist of the Year. I enjoy black and grey, color realism, portraits (animal/human) and ocean life. I do large scale work but also enjoy smaller pieces. I also work on scar cover up including phalloplasty, top surgery scars, mastectomy and burns. I am open to work 7 days a week and typically tattoo 4-5 hours per session.

Policies
- Deposit Policy
- All Deposits are non-refundable and will be forfeited if the polices are not followed. - You must notify myself or the shop during business hours, 7 days ahead of time to reschedule an appointment. I allow up to 2 reschedules if following the 7 day time frame notice. - If you are more than 15 minutes late you forfeit your deposit. **This deposit is used to hold your appointments and will be applied towards your final session.

- What hours do I work?
- I typically start at 9:30 AM and your session will last anywhere from 4 to 5 hours of tattooing.
- What days do I work?
- 7 days a week
- Do I draw up the tattoo designs in advance?
- I do not send out any artwork or designs prior to your tattoo appointments. We will discuss and place each part of your project at each of your tattoo sessions. There will be no master design for the project. I like to freedom to be able to adapt and potentially change the design as we move forward with your project. I do reference photos and many things I draw right on the skin.
- Where should I park for my appointment?
- Outer Limits tattoo is located at 22 South Chestnut Pl. in Long Beach California. It is best to park at the Pike parking structure at the end of the block. The studio’s phone number is 562–437–9121. If you need to let us know about anything time sensitive like rescheduling this is the preferred method of contact.
- Rescheduling policy
- You may reschedule with at least 7 days notice up to three times.
