About Craig
I was born in the small coastal town of Sasebo in Kyushu, Japan. Although I didn’t live there for long, its culture and visual traditions left a lasting impression that continues to influence my work today. I later graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), before beginning a career in animation and gaming in San Francisco. Eventually I realized my true passion was tattooing, which led me to New York City. Through tattooing I’ve been able to build a life, a community, and a family around art. I went on to start Orchard Street Tattoo with a former apprentice who has since moved on to pursue her own path. My style continues to evolve but draws heavily from traditional Japanese aesthetics. Lately I’ve been enjoying working primarily in black and grey with red as the only accent color. I also love exploring nostalgic imagery, from anime to old cartoons, bringing a playful but timeless energy into my tattoos.
